Cape Town Tours

Travel over the scenic Sir Lowry's Pass and coastal Clarens Drive to Hermanus, probably the best land based whale watching site in the world.

Situated on Walker Bay, approximately 120km south-east of Cape Town, lies the charming seaside village of Hermanus.

We depart from Cape Town and head out over the spectacular Sir Lowry's mountain pass, which offers classic views of the entire Cape Peninsula to Elgin. This is the Cape's apple growing region and if requested, we can stop at one of the farm stalls for morning tea and a chance to buy some of the apples.

Then it's on to Hermanus, where on arrival we drive up Clarens Drive. This drive takes you high above the mountains of Hermanus and from the vantage point you get a super view of the town below. Summer homes of many of the country's playwrights, authors, politicians and business millionaires will be seen. Some land based Whale watching and if you are fortunate enough you may see some whales frolicking in the bay before we head back.

The afternoon includes a visit to the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens at Betties Bay and thereafter a very scenic drive along False Bay through Rooi Els and Gordons Bay back to Cape Town.
