Explore the charm and natural beauty of the Garden Route with this delightful 4-day tour, including visits to the Cango Caves and Oudtshoorn Ostrich Farm.
The Garden Route runs along the southern coastline of South Africa, from Mossel Bay to the Tstisikamma Forest, and is noted for it's spectacular mountain ranges, indigenous forests and stunning beaches. The charming town of George, known as is a good base from which to explore the area, while other notable towns include Knysna, Wilderness and Oudtshoorn, famous for it's Ostrich Farm and the nearby Cango Caves.
Tuesday:
- The Du Toit's Kloof mountain pass
- The town of Worcester
- A delicious lunch on a local Wine Estate
- Travel through the Little Karoo
- Oudtshoorn - ostrich capital of the world
- Dinner, bed & breakfast and a warm welcome at the Riempies Estate Hotel (3 star) in Oudtshoorn
Wednesday:
- Guided Tour of the Cango Caves
- The Cango Wildlife Ranch (Crocodile and Cheetah farm)
- Lunch at Highgate Ostrich Farm
- Dinner, bed & breakfast on the water's edge at the Knysna Quays Hotel (4 star)
Thursday:
- Free time at the Knysna Waterfront
- Guided boat trip on the Keurboomriver where you experience the majesty of the Keurbooms River Nature Reserve
- Picnic Lunch
- Mossel Bay - visit to the Post Office Tree and Diaz Museum
- Leisurely afternoon in front of the swimming pool or a stroll along the beach
- Dinner, bed & breakfast at Protea Hotel Mossel Bay (3 star)
Friday:
- Visit Botlierskop Private Game Reserve
- Guided open vehicle game drive - experience close encounters with Rhinoceros, Lion, Buffalo, Giraffe, rare Black Impala
- Lunch in the town of Swellendam
- Return to Cape Town via a scenic stop at one of the local Farm stalls
Entrances included: All meals, entrances and accommodation included as per itinerary.
Entrances to own account: Drinks and expenses of a personal nature.
