One of Victoria's most popular tourist attractions is the nightly 'penguin parade'. At Phillip Island, a viewing area has been set up to allow tourists to view the tiny penguins as they come home from the sea at dusk.
K21L: Melbourne City Sights, Lunch & Penguin Parade
This morning experience the beautiful sights of Melbourne and hear about its wonderful history, famous buildings, great sporting centres and sensational shopping. Stop at the Fitzroy and Botanic Gardens and the Shrine of Remembrance and see many other great sights of Melbourne. Enjoy a 2 course lunch (main & dessert) from approximately 12 noon at Beer Deluxe then make your own way back to the AAT Kings Day Tours office by 1.10pm in order to board the Penguin Parade coach.
In the afternoon travel to Warrook, a genuine Australian working cattle farm, and the Koala Conservation Centre. At Summerland Beach, enjoy the nightly ritual of the world-famous Penguin Parade, as little penguins march up the sand to their nesting places. Your tour returns to Melbourne.
K10: Penguin Parade, Kangaroos & Koalas
Enjoy the scenic drive to Phillip Island, stopping at the Koala Conservation Centre to view koalas in their natural habitat before visiting the famous Seal Rocks and Nobbies. Enjoy Devonshire tea, hot scones with tea or coffee at Warrook Cattle Farm. Then marvel at the unique 'Penguin Parade' as the tiny penguins come home from the sea at dusk.
Warm clothing is recommended for the Penguin Parade. We suggest wearing long pants and a warm jacket while viewing the Penguins, as the sea air can be cold.
